I was more or less forced to watch the 1st movie.
All those people with sandals and wool socks having the book with them complete ruined HP.
It can't be good!

No really, they're great! First two might be a bit childish, but I really recommand to read all of the books to really get into it
At first I thought it could never be any good too... Untill Harry Potter actually became the third book (after Koning van Katoren a long time ago and The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide) that really grabbed me and wouldn't let go
Read the Dutch translations though, I think the names are much funnier than the English ones! The translator really did a great job

Never got to reading it so far.

Lord of the Rings books over HP any day.
